Exterior and Interior Design Comparison

The Silverado EV features a more streamlined exterior design than its gas counterpart, with a blank body panel and two smaller intakes for battery and electronics cooling. The EV is similar in size to a traditional Silverado 1500, but the connected bed and body design visually lengthen the EV. The standard Silverado features the classic large rectangular grille design drivers have come to appreciate. The electrified Silverado also includes an LED light bar across the front end, with a redesigned headlight and front bumper. When comparing interior features, the EV dash is more sleek than the boxy dashboard on the traditional Silverado, and features a futuristic 17.0-inch center display, significantly larger than the 13.4-inch display on the gas model. Plus, the EV’s optional fixed-glass roof creates an open environment for drivers and passengers.

Chevrolet Silverado Engine vs. Silverado EV Battery

The standard gas Silverado 1500 is offered in a variety of engines, from a four-cylinder to a 6.2-liter V-8, while the EV uses a single 200-kWh battery, which feeds two electric motors. When comparing 0-60 mph specs, the EV clocks in under 4.5 seconds, which is slightly faster than the gas Silverado. Select engines in the gas Silverado allow up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, but the EV offers drivers more in both areas- with 664 hp and 780 lb-ft of torque.

Compare Towing and Payload between EV and standard Silverado

The EV towing capacity, 10,000 pounds, is lower than the gas Silverado capacity of 13,300 pounds. Additionally, the gas payload is up to 2280 pounds, while the EV only carries 1300 pounds between its cab and bed. The EV will be physically heavier than the Silverado 1500, weighing in closer to 4.5-tons versus the 2.5-ton Silverado 1500.
